About
UkeHoot is Edinburgh’s weekly ukulele singalong, and we’ve been at it since 2012. There’s no leader and no agenda. People show up, add a song or a strum, and the joy looks after itself.
We’ve weathered a fair few venue moves, a pandemic, every Edinburgh festival since 2012, and a cheerful churn of folk coming, going, returning and visiting. The loose structure is the whole point, and it’s proven stubbornly hard to kill. We’re Edinburgh born and Edinburgh proud, and lately we’re turning up in a few spots beyond the city too.
Everything you need is on the home page: where and when we meet, how to join, and how to keep up with us between sessions.
This site also keeps the archive of the old blog: photos and notes from the sessions, which ran on Tumblr from 2012 and were migrated here in 2026. Old Tumblr post URLs redirect to their archived counterparts on this site.
