Uke hOOt — Edinburgh's weekly ukulele jam

Rocking Ukes at The White Horse

1 min read

A record turn out at The White Horse last night (at least a pb since
we left the Cuckoo’s Nest). We took up nearly every seat in the back
room, with only three non-ukers left trapped in a corner (they seemed
to be enjoying themselves - on a visit to Edinburgh from Albuquerque,
New Mexico).

The party atmosphere may have been in part due to the appearance of
our guests, Richard and Wendy Gibson from Adelaide. Richard is the man
behind the “Scorpex” website which has for most of us being a great
source for ukulele arrangements for many years now. Richard gave us
some helpful tips as well as leading us in the many of the songs.

Highlights of the night (for me anyway) were “Psycho Killer” and “Take
Me Home Country Roads”.

Uke Hoot meets again, next Wednesday, at the White Horse, from 7.30.
