Saturday 20 June 2026, and the sun actually turned up to the Edinburgh Canal Festival. So did we.
No stage, no fuss, just the collective strung out along the towpath with ukes, a banjo and a stack of music stands, while families dropped onto the grass to listen. Fourteen years on from the first session in 2012 and the formula hasn’t changed: nobody in charge, everybody welcome, and the joy comes along for the ride.
Thanks to the Edinburgh Canal Festival folk for having us, and to everyone who stopped on the path for a tune in the sunshine.
